Synthesis of 2,4-Diamino-6-Substitued Pteridine Author: Chunfeng Shey, Chao-Tung Chen, Jhy-Ming Horng, Cheng-Hsia Wang

Abstract：

Methotrexate (MTX) is an important anticancer drug widely used in cancer chemotherapy. 2,4-Diamino-6-substitued pteridine (6) is the intermediate for MTX. In this research the intermediate (6) was synthesized from a pyrimidine deri-vative and also from a pyrazire derivative.
